Hi all, was waiting for one of the usual suspects to start this, but in their absence - I'll kick off.

As has been mentioned here, and elsewhere - I'm keen to offer my insight and share my experience of working with MS Silverlight over the last year or two.

Matt made the excellent suggestion of inviting others to speak from the similar but different viewpoints of Flash and perhaps HTML 5 - to get a braod spectrum overview of alternative RIA technologies. This also ties things up in a nice themed ribbon...

What are people's thoughts on the above?

With regards other speakers, we should probably knock on the door of http://www.flashmidlands.com for the Flash/Flex point of view (I'm particularly interested to see what the new Catalyst framework has to offer), and I only know of one man with a sufficient grasp of HTML 5 and it's potential application in er... applications. Fresh from his FOWD talk on a similar topic - Mr Bruce Lawson?

that's my $0.02 anyway... discuss :) Oh, and as for a date - how about the 17th?

    I do like the idea.

How are you for the 10th? I ask as we normally do the 2nd saturday, but also in case we need spare dates in case of presenting people double booking.

I very much like the idea - and I've been waiting for someone to show me why Silverlight is the big thing it's supposed to be.

The HTML5 thing would be good - it'd also be nice to see what's happened in the months since February's "Emerging Standards" talk.

In other news, I'm looking forward to getting back to you guys in October - feels like I've been away for months!

    Oh... wait...

Alas, it's very unlikely I'll make any event in October as I have a family birthday celebration every weekend, commencing with Lizzy's on the 10th, father-in-laws 60th on 17th and the bab's on 24th.

The subject matter sounds quite interesting though, especially if you bring all the presenters together at the end for a Panel Discussion about the different RIA solutions available.

Hopefully, Ant can video record the talks for non-attendees to watch on Vimeo...?

I'm not going to be able to make this one unfortunately, I'm off on my holidays - but sounds like a good lineup. Seconding Si, please can someone get it recorded as per usual...

    See you all in November!

I've checked with Bruce and he's up for giving an HTML5 perspective. Just need to collar somebody for the Flash angle.

I can't think of any Flash developers in particular so put a shout out on Twitter.

    Hopefully that'll get someone's attention.

Ah, got a response from Flash Midlands Facebook. Looks like their next event is the 2nd Saturday, so makes sense for us to go for the third. 17th it is!

Gaz or Ross, is OBB happy to host again?

So in a fit of efficiency, I've created an upcoming event. Let me know if I've missed anything, got things wrong and so on: Event
